Disney raised prices across many theme park offerings as its new fiscal year began, continuing an annual October ritual that tests how much visitors are willing to spend. This time, however, consumers are not resisting the increases as sharply as they did several years ago.

The company is distributing the increases across different customers rather than imposing a sweeping hike. Entry level prices, including one day tickets for one park during the slowest periods, remain unchanged, while several premium products and optional services are becoming more expensive.

Disney said its theme park strategy has evolved, combining premium products, optional services, targeted discounts and refreshed attractions. That approach helped its parks and cruises business generate its strongest revenue in two years during the summer.

The decision to preserve entry level prices comes as many consumers restrain discretionary spending. “Our goal is to put guests at the center of our decision making, and that starts by listening to them,” Thomas Mazloum, chairman of Disney Experiences, told CNN ahead of the increases.

“That matters more now when families are watching every dollar, and we see it in the choices they make every day — in how they plan, in how far ahead,” Mazloum said. Disney is treating its California and Florida resorts differently because their customers tend to have different travel patterns.

At Disneyland, adding the ability to visit two parks on the same day will cost another $5 to $15. Most middle tier Disneyland tickets are increasing by about $5, or 3%, while the Lightning Lane Multi Pass service is rising by $1, also roughly 3%.

A broad group of Disneyland products will not increase. The list includes the cheapest tickets for the slowest days, peak tickets for the busiest days, tickets covering multiple days, parking and annual passes.

Disneyland’s base admission price has remained $104 since 2019. For the first time in a decade, the resort’s most expensive one day ticket for one park is also holding at $224, while the absence of increases for every annual pass is another first.

The limited movement reflects Disneyland’s regional customer base and the shorter stays common among its visitors. Pnina Feldman, associate professor of technology and operations management at the University of Virginia, said Californians “are deciding how many times to visit this year.”

“That decision is price sensitive,” Feldman said. By contrast, Disney told CNN that visitors to Disney World typically plan further ahead, travel farther and remain on vacation longer.

Disney World ticket prices are currently established through October 2027. For the rest of 2027, the peak price for a one day ticket to one park will rise by $10 to $229 plus tax, while the least expensive equivalent ticket will remain $119 plus tax.

Feldman said Disney World attracts more visitors from outside Florida. “For guests who flew in and booked a hotel, a few dollars on a ticket rarely changes the decision to go, so the increase in price won't fundamentally decrease demand,” she said.

Disney World annual passes will increase by amounts ranging from $10 to $120, depending on the pass. Middle tier tickets, tickets covering multiple days and a service offering faster access to individual premium rides will also receive moderate increases.

The premium service that provides access to every available fast lane without reservations could become $50 more expensive, depending on demand. That would put the highest level service just below $500 during the busiest periods, while the less expensive reservation based option and parking rates will remain unchanged.

Gavin Doyle, founder of the third party Disney news site MickeyVisit.com, said his readers closely track Disney and its annual increases. “I'm just seeing Disney start to really listen to fan feedback in a way that they haven't in the past, always,” Doyle said.

Doyle said some visitors felt that policy changes and price increases following the pandemic made Disney trips harder to manage. Disney later reversed some pandemic era decisions, including restoring free Disney World hotel parking for guests.

Beci Mahnken, CEO of MEI-Travel agency, said her clients are not abandoning Disney vacations even during financially uncertain periods. Instead, some change their travel dates, resort choice or length of stay when discounts can meaningfully reduce the total cost.

Disney hopes its pricing structure will encourage visitors to choose less crowded periods, spreading attendance more evenly across the calendar. “We're so proud that guests keep choosing us, year after year. It tells us we're getting that balance right,” Mazloum said.
