Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices are committing a combined $4 billion to Meta after the social media and artificial intelligence giant announced plans to raise $95 billion. Meta said the capital would support its investments in AI infrastructure.
Meta on Monday said it would initially raise $35 billion through underwritten public equity offerings. The company then plans to raise another $60 billion through an at the market program.
Nvidia announced Tuesday that it would invest $3 billion in Meta’s equity offering. AMD separately said it would invest $1 billion, bringing the two chip companies’ announced commitments to $4 billion.
Meta’s Monday announcement had identified Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom as companies interested in purchasing up to $5 billion in shares. The announced Nvidia and AMD investments represent most of that potential amount.
Alongside its investment, Nvidia said Meta would expand its deployment of Vera Rubin and Vera CPUs. Nvidia also said the companies would deepen their partnership on Muse, Meta’s AI agent that launched last month.
The investment therefore extends beyond an equity position and accompanies a broader technology partnership described by Nvidia. Meta is expanding its use of Nvidia computing products while working with the chipmaker on its AI agent.
“AI agents represent a new computing paradigm — software that understands our goals, reasons, uses tools and gets work done on our behalf,” Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in a statement.
Huang also described what that shift could mean for the way people interact with computers. “This changes how we use computers, from operating applications to working with intelligent agents.”
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasized the scale of Meta’s ambitions and the companies’ continued work together. “We’re excited to keep working with NVIDIA to deliver the best personal agents and frontier models for billions of people,” Zuckerberg said.
AMD also outlined its role in Meta’s expanding AI infrastructure. The company said its Helios racks were running at Meta and that its EPYC processors were powering Muse.
AMD CEO Lisa Su said the companies were working together across infrastructure, silicon, software and systems. She tied that cooperation to Meta’s plans for increasingly ambitious artificial intelligence models and services.
“Together, we are building and deploying infrastructure at gigawatt scale and shaping future generations of silicon, software and systems to enable Meta’s most ambitious superintelligence models and services,” Su said in a statement.
The announcements produced a mixed response in Tuesday trading. AMD shares rose 3%, Nvidia remained flat and Meta declined 1%.
The Meta investment is part of a broader push by Nvidia and AMD to build stakes in companies supporting the AI boom. Both chipmakers have sharply increased their participation in investment rounds compared with 2022.
Nvidia has invested in OpenAI, Anthropic, Intel and XAI. According to Dealroom, Nvidia has participated in 121 investment rounds so far this year, compared with only 13 in 2022.
AMD has also accelerated its investment activity. In July, the company said it would make an equity investment of up to $5 billion in Anthropic.
AMD has participated in 25 funding rounds in 2026, up from two in 2022. Its $1 billion Meta commitment adds another major equity investment alongside the operational relationship involving Helios racks, EPYC processors and Muse.
Meta’s planned $95 billion capital raise provides the financial framework for its continuing AI infrastructure investments. Nvidia and AMD are now set to participate as both technology partners and major investors, with their announced commitments totaling $4 billion.
